A1Base Inc. operates Devolution. Offline play stays on your device. Settings, saved games, replays and your chat identity key are stored locally.
Desktop multiplayer shares your network address, faction, game actions and chat messages with the host and connected players. Chat is retained in memory for the room session (up to 80 messages); other players can copy it. Custom rooms use our Cloudflare directory for reservations and connection details.
When guest accounts are enabled in a desktop build, the accounts service stores a random player ID, chosen display name, random installation ID, session and ticket credential hashes, and account status. A verified display name may appear to players in a room. Guest accounts do not require an email address. Provider linking is not currently available. The separate chat installation key continues to identify signed messages, blocks and reports.
Account sessions expire after 30 days. Room tickets expire within 60 seconds; ticket records are kept for seven more days to detect replay. The service uses IP-derived rate counters for abuse limits. Expired credentials and counters are removed in bounded cleanup batches. Player, device and moderation records remain until a request or a retention policy addresses them; contact support for assistance or deletion.
We do not upload complete chat histories. If you report a message, that message, its cryptographic player identity and your report go to our support service. Support tickets and replies are retained for 90 days, with expired records removed by a daily cleanup. Chat IP-derived rate-limit identifiers expire after an hour. Blocked chat identities remain until a moderator removes the restriction. Hosting providers may process network and security logs under their policies.
No advertising or analytics SDK is used by these features. Apple and TestFlight may collect store and diagnostic data under your settings. Do not send secrets or sensitive personal information in chat or support tickets.
The iPhone and Android single-player editions have no multiplayer chat. Updated 20 September 2026.
